Amity offers a bonus system for teachers who instruct 28 or more lessons on average per week in our monthly business report. The bonus scale begins at 3,000 yen for teaching extra lessons and with more classes added, can reach up to 47,000 yen. Instructors are eligible for this benefit as soon as they begin teaching along in their classroom.
Translated directly from Japanese this term means special training. All of our schools are given business goals or spirits to meet for two periods of time per year. These spirits are set for two important aspects of Amity's business aspirations; the first is a student goal set for new students that enroll with Amity and the second is a student point goal that assesses the overall business performance of the school. If a school meets these spirits for the entire period, the staff is rewarded with a paid trip that includes some special training. Past trips have included excursions to Kyoto, Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, and Okinawa.
A furnished, rent-subsidized, single-occupant apartment is provided. The key money and deposits are paid by Amity.
The teacher is responsible for paying 42,000 yen in rent each month. Amity subsidizes the rest of the rent over 42,000 yen. Commuting expenses are covered for teachers who live more than 1.5 km from work. Most teachers pay an average of 10,000 yen per month for utilities and 60,000 yen for food, although the amount varies from person to person.
All Amity teachers are enrolled into the Japanese Social Insurance System. This system provides teachers with comprehensive health insurance, which includes coverage of pre-existing conditions, optical care, and dental care. Teachers will also be provided with a pension insurance plan.
Approximately 30,000 yen will be deducted from the teacher's montyly salary for Social Insurance. Though the cost of the health insurance is non-refundable, the Japanese goverment will refund a teacher's pension payments in 6 and 12-month increments. Teachers must submit an application for refund to the Social Insurance Agency of Japan after leaving Japan permanently.
