A Message from AEON Amity Vice President and Director,Takato Yamasaki

Hello to all of you and a warm welcome from all of us here at the Amity Corporation,

My name is Takato Yamasaki and I have been engaged in the business of private school English instruction since 1978. I thank you for your time and am proud to invite you to discover Amity. Please take a moment to learn a little bit about Amity and our goals as a school system.
Amity was founded and began business operations independent from the AEON Corporation in 1994. Amity manages all of the Amity English Schools that specialize in teaching English to children. We now have more than 23,000 students learning English with Amity! Amity currently has 75 schools in Japan and in a few years we will have more than 100 schools. I believe that Amity is enjoying excellent success.
We now have a good reputation among students, among parents and especially in the areas across Japan where we build new schools. Many kids are joining Amity based on this good reputation.
This reputation has earned us respect among our peers too. Amity is a member of the prestigious Japan Association for the Promotion of Foreign Language Instruction or Zengaikyo, which is the hallmark for quality private foreign language instruction in Japan. At Amity, we try at all times to challenge ourselves to be the best.
We believe that teaching children requires special skills and is different than teaching adults. The most important thing we ask from our teachers is that they LOVE KIDS! We believe that a children's teacher possess a warm character that makes them successful in the classroom. It is because of this belief that we divided separately into AEON and Amity.
Students who learn at Amity focus on improving their ability to accomplish the task of communicating in English. At the same time, we aim to interest kids in English by having fun while they learn. Amity strives to provide satisfaction to students and their parents through good service and good care. This is the management policy of Amity and this is the focus of our business.
Amity schools have nice interiors and the atmosphere of an Amity school is warm and inviting. Our Japanese staff and Foreign staff are very friendly and very kind. Our staff has a very professional attitude; they are confident and proud of Amity. Amity's curriculum and teaching materials are dynamic. Amity also offers a wide variety of courses and classes.
The English ability of our Japanese teachers is excellent and they have a great passion for teaching kids. Our native teachers also have a strong motivation to teach. They are constantly trying to do their best. All native teachers at Amity are friendly, professional and mature. Everyone at Amity always takes good care of our students and we are very concerned about them. Our teachers offer good advice to students and are excellent counselors for students as they learn English. We all, of course, love kids.
Amity is an English conversation school and because of this, the role of native teachers is very important. Many Japanese parents hope and expect their children to be taught English by native teachers. Parent's expectations of native teachers are very high. Parents expect native teachers to provide their children with a strong motive to learn English. Parents expect native teachers to give their child confidence so they may communicate with foreigners. Parents expect native teachers to improve their children's English ability through your lessons. Parents expect native teachers to share with their children so they will readily welcome new cultures.
Obviously, a native teacher has a big responsibility.
We all understand that teachers have great influence on their students. Students like our English teachers and they become fond of English because of this. When students gain respect for their English teacher, they will have a strong motivation to learn English.

My hope for all of our teachers during their employment with Amity...

Please prepare the best lessons.
Please take care of our students.
Please be professional and push yourself to improve.
And please help us succeed in business.

These factors are essential for us to be the best school system in Japan and for Amity to accomplish the goal of the highest quality instruction. We are anxious to meet all of these tasks. We believe that through trial and effort we will be successful in business. To aspire towards these important objectives we need your understanding and cooperation.
It is my sincere hope that you will have an enriching experience in Japan and with Amity. It is my great wish that you will make many friends and that you will leave with wonderful memories.
We at Amity are determined to be the best English school for children in Japan.

Thank you for your time,

Takato Yamasaki
